Privacy policy
The short version: your gratitude journal stays on your device — we never upload it. Shyne creates an account tied to your email during setup. We don’t sell your data and we don’t use it for advertising.

Overview
Whyteboard Inc. (“Whyteboard”, “we”, “us”) builds focused mobile apps. This policy explains how we handle information in connection with Shyne for iOS and the useshyne.com website.
1. The Shyne app
What stays on your device
Your gratitude journal, intentions, abundance cheques, custom affirmations, your signs log and your 369 voice recordings are stored locally on your iPhone or iPad. We do not upload them to our servers. Deleting the app removes this local data from your device.
Your account
During first-time setup, Shyne asks for your name, email and pronouns to personalize your practice and create an account tied to your subscription. We may store your profile and subscription status in our secure cloud service so we can support your account.
Other data we may store
Some non-journal practice data may also be stored in our secure cloud service — for example mood check-ins, daily reflection responses, 369 practice progress, community stories you choose to submit, and optional in-app feedback. This supports account features and product improvement. We don’t sell this data or use your journal for advertising.
Subscriptions
Shyne subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment card information. Apple provides us with the subscription status needed to unlock premium features.
Third-party services
We use Apple for subscriptions, a secure cloud service for the account and practice metadata described above, and on-device or cloud text-to-speech providers for affirmation playback. We do not sell your personal information.
Your choices
You can edit your profile in Settings. You can delete your account in Settings, which removes synced account data from our servers. Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store subscription — manage billing in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
Crash analytics and diagnostics
If you have opted into Apple’s device analytics sharing, Apple may provide us with anonymized crash reports through App Store Connect. These reports contain no journal content and no personally identifiable information. You can control this in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.
2. This website (useshyne.com)
useshyne.com is a static marketing site. We do not run analytics scripts, tracking pixels or advertising networks on it. Standard web server logs (IP address, browser, pages visited) may be retained by our hosting provider, Vercel, for up to 30 days for security and operational purposes.
If you contact us by email, we store only your email address and the contents of your message in order to respond. We do not add you to any mailing list without your explicit consent.
3. Information we do not collect
- Advertising IDs or cross-app tracking
- Location data
- Usage analytics or behavioral advertising profiles
- Anything sold or brokered to third parties
4. Children’s privacy
Shyne is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.
5. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify users through App Store release notes or an in-app notice.
